Cowes
Cowes is the largest township on Phillip Island and it is an easy two hours’ drive from Melbourne. Cowes can also be reached by ferry from Stony Point on the Mornington Peninsula.
The main commercial hub of Cowes is situated on Thompson Avenue which intersects with The Esplanade at the Cowes foreshore. During the warmer months Cowes is a hive of activity with restaurants and events filled with holiday makers and locals enjoying the sun and seaside vibe.
The Cowes foreshore and its beaches are a popular location for families with sheltered beaches, shaded lawn areas, BBQ facilities and a children’s playground. The Cowes Pier hosts a market at select times of the year and is also a great spot to drop a line in and catch some dinner. Leaving from the Pier is the ferry to Stony Point and various boat tours around the Island including the Seal Rocks fast boat tours.
Cowes has the largest choice of holiday homes available on Phillip Island. Accommodation for any budget, style or size is available and provides a perfect location for relaxing while still being within a short walk to supermarkets and restaurants.
